We are looking for an entry-level fire engineer to join our team based in Sydney. Get in touch if you are currently studying, about to start or have recently graduated from a fire safety engineering degree and want to take the first step in your fire engineering career. 

The Role will provide training that includes, but is not limited to, Building Code of Australia assessments, preparation of fee proposals and associated project management, delivery of fire engineering performance-based design solutions, for new and existing buildings from a range of sectors, utilising various tools, programs and assessment methods.

You will also receive training and real-life experience conducting business development activities and client relationship management that will help you develop your skills as a consultant.

We are always looking for engineers to join our technical teams in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Fire engineering roles are available for different levels of experience. 

The Role will include but not be limited to Building Code of Australia assessments, preparation of fee proposals and associated project management, delivery of fire engineering performance-based design solutions, for new and existing buildings, utilising:

  • Qualitative and quantitative egress assessments;
  • Qualitative and quantitative fire and smoke spread assessments;
  • Radiant heat calculations; and
  • Smoke modelling;
  • Performing computer modelling of fire and smoke using Fire Dynamics Simulator (NIST);
  • Performing computer modelling of occupant emergency evacuation using spreadsheet calculations, Simulex, Evacnet, Pathfinder, and similar evacuation models;

Project Management duties will include attending site inspections and meetings with design teams and approval authorities, Coordinating with project stakeholders in relation to fire safety aspects of projects. Organised project information, task and account management is expected from the desired candidate.

We are looking for a Business Development Executive to join our team based in Melbourne. 

In this newly created role, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day business development activities and implementation of the Melbourne business development strategy. Through research, you’ll develop marketing and project opportunities, with both new and existing clients. You’ll provide insight into how best to implement the BD strategy and guide the future business operations to manage the opportunities.

We’re looking for a Business Development professional ideally with experience in BD principles as they relate to consulting engineering, construction, or architecture. You’ll be able to establish practises which strengthen and guide the way the business and broader team operates in relation to new business and be relationship oriented in your approach. Local market knowledge in construction and/or the architecture industries is highly preferred. It goes without saying that you have excellent communication skills, you are comfortable and willing to make cold calls when needed, you can build relationships with ease and are creative and solutions focused. Provide senior technical support to a team of engineers and technical subject matter experts focusing on fire protection and life safety.  Prepare building and fire code consulting and analysis reports, and engineering analyses specific to fire protection, life safety, and risk.

Contribute to the technical development of the office, business development, marketing initiatives, project scoping and management, and general engineering of deliverables. Mentor and train the professional staff of engineers, and engage in peer review of technical documents prepared by other companies and advancement of the profession through local body affiliations.

We are looking for a mid-level Fire Engineer with 3-7 years of experience to join our Central team based in Wellington, Queenstown or Tauranga.

Your role will be to undertake performance and prescriptive based fire engineering design covering all aspects of fire safety including fire and smoke modelling, egress analysis, suppression, alarm and detection, external fire spread and fire safety management.  Ideally, you’ll have VM2 and FDS modelling experience.

We are looking for a mid-level Fire Protection Engineer and are open to receiving applications to work at any of our locations in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch. 

You’ll be working alongside an experienced team of Fire Protection Engineers on a wide range of projects across many industries. You’ll have the opportunity to be involved in the design and construction monitoring of these projects.

What we’re looking for

Experience working as a Fire Protection Engineer or similar in a consultancy or contractor business.  We’re interested in hearing from people with experience in alarm or sprinkler installation and ideally you’ll also have had some experience in the over-arching design of the solution being provided.

Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit is highly desirable along with a working knowledge of Bluebeam and Microsoft Office suite.
