Holmes Fire has seen considerable growth in our business in the last few years with new offices opening in New Zealand, Australia and the US. While the expansion of our operations presents significant opportunities to our business it also, more importantly, it creates opportunities for OUR PEOPLE.
Taking up one such opportunity is Keryn Goble who has just joined our Holmes Fire Seattle team as a Project Director after 13 years in the Auckland office! In this time, Keryn has brought her vast experience and enthusiasm to a wide range of projects while also providing valuable mentorship to junior engineers. Most recently, Keryn has been leading the Holmes Fire team’s involvement in Auckland’s largest development, Commercial Bay
. Amongst Keryn’s portfolio of work includes significant roles within ASB North Wharf
, ASB Waterfront Theatre
, Q Theatre, Westpac/E&Y Britomart. Many of these have been award-winning projects, with Westpac/E&Y collecting an ACENZ award specifically for its fire engineering.
Keryn was also recently bestowed the Chapter’s highest award – the President’s award – by Michael James, the outgoing President of the SFPE New Zealand Chapter at the FireNZ Conference.
This award recognised Keryn’s six-year tenure on the Chapter’s Executive Committee, the last two of which have been in the capacity of Vice President. Michael noted Keryn’s contribution to a number of NZ Chapter initiatives, including development of guidelines for the Fire Engineering Brief, representing the SFPE NZ Chapter on the VM2 Review Working Group and establishing an ongoing and increasingly successful program of engaging with undergraduate engineering students to introduce them to the variety of careers available in fire engineering.
Keryn will be hugely missed by the Auckland team but we look forward to her continued leadership and development in the Seattle office. Congratulations again Keryn!
